Al Amal Industries Co. LLC started operations in 1987, manufacturing disposable baby diapers and feminine sanitary napkins. The Company is the only diaper manufacturer in the Sultanate and its brands 'Super Al Jamil', 'Bunnies', Bumbums' and 'Lovely' are household names in the diaper market. 'Softex' and 'Al Hasna' are popular sanitary napkin brands.
The Company's manufacturing facilities are situated in Rusayl Industrial Estate campus. The Company has 2 Diaper manufacturing lines and one Sanitary Napkin line. The Company employs more than 65 personnel.
Competition in the diaper industry is fierce and dominated by leading multinational brands. Several other brands manufactured in GCC countries, vie for market share. One of the most distinguishing strengths of Al Amal is its sound domestic retail distribution system. This has given Al Amal its competitive advantage in the domestic market.
Currently, over 55% of the Company's volume comes from its export business. Over the years, Al Amal has exported to more than 25 countries and established a strong presence in many, amongst them in the Indian sub continent, GCC, Asia, Africa, etc. The Company also exports to countries as far as Papua New Guinea. New markets like Yemen and Lebanon were added during the year.
In 1993, the Company was awarded His Majesty's Trophy for Industrial Excellence and amongst its most valuable achievements is its aggressive Omanisation programme. Today, over 65% of Al Amal employees are of Omani origin, employed across all its functions. In 2006, the Company has been recertified for the ISO 9001:2000 by Bureau Veritas Certification Oman. This prestigious international quality rating is the result of adopting and implementing very stringent quality systems, in a series of documented procedures, introduced by the Company from year 2000.

Over the last 15 years, Al Amal has contributed significantly for the indigenisation of the consumer product industry in the Sultanate of Oman and will continue to develop its goal of contributing to industry in Oman.
