Oman Formaldehyde Chemical Company LLC (OFCC) is a 50:50 joint venture between Oman Methanol Holding Company LLC (OMHC), an Omzest Group Company of the Sultanate of Oman and Manso Holding Company WLL (MHC), a Manso Group Company from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
OFCC has its plant for manufacture of formaldehyde at Sohar
Industrial Port area, a focal point of Oman's industrialization where major
projects like Sohar Refinery, Sohar Aluminium, Sohar Power, Oman Methanol,
Shadeed Iron, SIUCI Fertilizer have come up.
OFCC Plant has a capacity to produce 125 Metric Tonnes Per
day (MTPD) of Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate (UFC 85) or 203 MTPD of
Aqueous Formaldehyde (AF 37) or a combination of UFC 85 and AF 37 product
and has started its operation from January 2008.
The Plant is designed using the well-known and proven
technology from Haldor Topsoe A/S of Denmark. Supply arrangement have been
entered for purchase of raw materials (methanol and urea) and utilities
(electricity and water)
